Long, long ago, Xaver Fassin unearthed a delectable licorice recipe in Sicily and brought it back to Germany. Using this recipe, the first ever tiny licorice cats were developed, cooked, shaped, tasted... and declared delicious. Thankfully! Fastforward many decades, and our little tangy-hard licorice cats are still one of our most popular products. And we’re particularly pleased to announce that these little black treats have always been made entirely without animal gelatin. From day one. Because we don’t want any animal gelatin in any of our products!
